Planning Officer at Central Military Region

Department J5 Central Military Region (MR M)
You will belong to the defense planning department J5 at MR M, which is now growing and seeking more employees. The J5 department is responsible for, among other things, pre-defense planning, total defense coordination, mobilization, and physical planning within MR M.
Main Responsibilities
As a planning officer, you will support C J5 and the staff in leading and coordinating MR M's defense planning, primarily regarding total defense development and host nation support. The work involves translating development processes into plans and tactical orders. This is done in close collaboration with parallel tactical staffs as well as with the higher staffs of the Armed Forces. You will lead and coordinate MR M's total defense planning in cooperation with civil defense and civil actors. The position requires high capacity and a well-developed understanding of planning, planning processes, and adaptability to new conditions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading MR M's capability development in host nation support.
- Maintaining, revising, and upholding MR M's governing documents regarding planning, activation, and mobilization (e.g., OPLAN, SOFO, Support Plans)
- Contingency planning
- Concentration transport planning and other planning activities at MR M
- Collaboration at regional and higher regional command levels within total defense
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Officer education OF3, or specialist officer education SO8 with complementary training equivalent to HSU/SU and proven experience in staff work, primarily planning at OP/TA level
- Good computer skills with strong knowledge of the Office suite
- Driver's license at least class B

- Experience in operational management
- Complementary training in and experience of operational/tactical planning
- Experience of civil-military cooperation within Total Defense
- Military driver's license
- Service at another authority within total defense
- Experience working at an international military staff (NATO)

The Central Military Region (MR M) is a military unit and an organizational unit where the Commander and Staff are located in Kungsängen. The organization consists of a Commander with staff, six training groups for training and support of the Home Guard, and about 7000 Home Guard soldiers organized into eleven battalions and several independent units.
The Commander of the Central Military Region with a regional staff leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional and local actors, leads security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders who solve tasks within the region. The region also serves as a link between the Armed Forces and civil society, actively cooperating with the county administrative board and region. If necessary, MR M also leads operations, for example, during national crisis situations and support to society. The military region solves tasks in peace, crisis, and war.
The organization and operational area of the Central Military Region encompass the geographical counties of Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Västmanland, Dalarna, and Gävleborg. Training groups and Home Guard are present in each county.
